My journey ... continued

Here you will find some more experiments done by me.

Rangoli to Kashida to Wall painting

When I was still a child, I learned to draw Rangoli using a grid of dots placed equidistant from each other. It was fun!

At a later date, I discovered Karnataki Kashida , which also uses a grid for reference. The designs are made up using lines only.

After I started painting on walls, I had a brainwave. I used Kashida designs in a different way, using solid masses of colour. Here are a couple of results.

Mandala painting

An acquaintance told me about this. It is supposed to have a meditative and calming effect. I decided to try my hand at it. I bought some books with Mandala designs. This looks rather nice, don't you think?

I also tried to draw and paint from scratch.

Classic Mandala is supposed to be destroyed after it has been created. I am sorry, but I have yet to achieve that level of detachment. however modest and simple my creation may be!
